Casa Josephina – a charming loft apartment close to the center of Lucca.
This was once a 19th-century hay barn, part of a small farm where livestock was kept and corn was grown.
Now it is a bright, tranquil designer loft just 600 meters from the city walls of Lucca. The original barn walls have been left visible, combined with abundant daylight and a carefully chosen interior.

Additionally, there is a sunny garden where you can relax all day and enjoy peace and the outdoors. Inside, you will find a bright, open living space with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and a comfortable living room.
On the first floor is the bedroom with built-in wardrobes and a luxury bathroom. The second floor offers an additional sleeping area and a quiet workspace.

Our story
About Casa Josephina
Sometimes a place starts with a feeling.
For us, it clicked immediately in Lucca. Without being able to explain exactly why. The tranquility, the people, the pace of the city. As if you slow down automatically. Not a polished tourist spot, but a city that just works, with history, character, and one of the most beautiful walled centers there is.
In addition, Lucca is surprisingly centrally located. Within a short time, you can be in the mountains, by the sea, or in cities like Florence, Bologna, and Siena.
What started with summers in Lucca soon became more. We returned in every season and discovered how special this place is all year round. Until the moment we decided: we want a place of our own here.
After a long search, with the necessary detours, we found this old hay barn, exactly the place we were looking for. We named it Casa Josephina, after our daughter Josefiene.
Because we are so happy with this place, we don't want to keep it to ourselves. We love sharing Casa Josephina with others, so that they too can experience what makes Lucca so special: the atmosphere, the people, the food, and the nature. A place for everyone who loves variety and tranquility.

Lucca is one of those cities where you don't have to plan anything. You step out the door and are right in the middle of life: coffee in a square, a stroll along the city walls, getting lost in small streets, and finishing with a long lunch or aperitivo.
